M30 Proximity Switches shielded The inductive proximity switch sensor is composed of high-frequency oscillation, detection, amplification, triggering and output circuits. The oscillator generates an alternating electromagnetic field on the detection surface of the sensor. When a metal object approaches its detection surface, the eddy current generated in the metal absorbs the energy of the oscillator, weakening the oscillation and even stopping the vibration. The two states of oscillation and stop of the oscillator are converted into electrical signals through the shaping amplifier and converted into binary switching signals, which are output after power amplification.

Installation requirements
The unshielded proximity switch can obtain the maximum operating distance (related to the diameter); but in order to prevent the metal around the switch from affecting the switch, the switch sensing head must maintain a certain gap with the surrounding metal.
M30 Proximity Switches shielded Due to the special internal shielding effect of the shielded proximity switch, the radial magnetic field on the side is reduced, and the sensing distance is about 60% of that of the unshielded type, so it can be installed flush in the metal.
