It is a standardized metal rail profile that modular electrical devices clip onto, used for mounting breakers, contactors, and control devices.
The top-hat (OMEGA) profile is the most widely used for distribution and control devices in panels.
Devices with a clip-on mechanism snap over the rail and are removed with a screwdriver through the release lever.
