Willmall RCCB supply supports distribution-level earth leakage protection for shock and fire risk reduction, for electrical contractors and distributors.
An RCCB detects earth-leakage current and disconnects the circuit to reduce shock and fire risk. It is normally combined with overcurrent protection devices such as MCBs on the same circuit.
An RCCB provides earth-leakage protection only, while an RCBO combines leakage protection with overload and short-circuit protection in one unit.
A 30 mA rated residual operating current is commonly used for personal shock protection on final circuits, while higher values such as 100 mA or 300 mA are used for fire prevention and equipment protection.
An RCCB is installed in distribution boards, typically upstream of the final circuits it protects, and is wired to disconnect the protected circuits when leakage is detected.
Periodic testing using the test button verifies that the device still detects leakage and trips correctly, confirming that the protection is available when needed.
